So before I start talking about what’s been going on , I want to say that on the 23rd of April 2022 my baby turned 2 years old! Honestly I can’t believe it.
I actually did a post about his first birthday last year.
Anyway before we get into the rest of the post, here’s some pics from his birthday!
Official bday picDog cake ps NEVER buying this again. the look on his face lolHe spent his bday doing the things he loves- Swimming and Retrieving a ballLolAnd he’s getting ready to throw himself in the river again lol
So that was his birthday! He spent it eating, swimming and retrieving a tennis ball – all things he loves very much.🥳
So where have I been?
I haven’t posted since the 3rd of April
Honestly I just lost all motivation to post. Also it was the Easter Holidays, starting second week back at school on Monday, which didn’t help as it got me out of the routine of posting. And then I had a post for Tuesday that was nearly done but for personal health issues I haven’t been feeling very good this week.
So I hope that explains by absence , I cant wait to get back into the swing of posting!
So I am going to be doing a slightly different post today! I am going to be answering some of the internet’s most commonly asked questions about Labrador care! Back Story: I have had Labradors for well over 3 years now, and they haven’t died yet LOL.
DISCLAIMER: All these opinions are my own, I am not saying I am right, I am just trying to inform people based on my own personal experience.
Before we start here are my 2 labradors!
Ruby-8
Prince-1 1/2
Question 1: Do Labradors shed?
YES! The amount of shedding is unbelievable, well in my 2 labs case anyway.
Question 2: How much exercise do Labradors need?
There is not 1 answer to this. It all depends on the individual dog. For my dogs, they get between an hour and fifteen to an hour and 45 on a normal day. This is not just walking though. They will be off lead mainly and they will do a mix of swimming, retrieving and walking! I would suggest for an adult lab at least an hour a day, ideally more,
Question 3: How much food do Labradors need?
Once again, depends on the dog. You have to take into consideration factors such as age, size and exercise.
For example, my older lab, Ruby has less than Prince because she is less active and naturally smaller. My dogs eat dry food with wet food sometimes. They get fed twice a day, breakfast and dinner.
Ruby gets a quarter to half a bowl at breakfast and then just over half for dinner.
Prince gets half to 3 quarters of a bowl in the morning and then 3/4 of a bowl in the evening.
A factor you have to take into consideration for my Labradors is they are naturally quite small for labradors.
Question 4: What are good about Labradors?
There are many things, but if I had to pick 2 it would be their friendliness and their playfulness. Obviously, every dog is unique though.
Question 5: How long can Labradors be left alone?
This all depends on the individual dog. For my dogs, the longest I would feel comfortable leaving them alone for is 4 hours. That all depends on the dog though. Some Labs might only be able to be left alone for an hour, while some can be left alone for 7 hours. Obviously, always make sure they have plenty of fresh water before leaving them alone, and if you have to be out for a long time, maybe arrange for someone to check on them halfway through.
Ok guys, so that’s it for this post! Hope you enjoyed it!
*Realising that everyone already knows that from the title* 😂 Oooooooh, I’ve just had an idea. At some point would you like to see things I wish I knew before I got an older dog.
Btw the dog that I’m talking about is Prince who is currently a year and 2 months.
Let’s just get into this post!
They grow up fast!!! I mean I obviously knew he would grow up but he just grew up so fast.
House training can take a lot longer than you plan.
All your dreams of them being perfect, you can throw them away. That’s never gonna happen, not in a million years.
They will be your best friend but they’ll also be your worst enemy.😂
Hi! How are you? Let me know in the comments down below!
So today, April 23rd 2021, Prince turned 1 years old.🎉🎉🎉
I can’t believe my little boy is one.
So this is what we did today:
Prince
Ruby
This is how I found them when I came down today.
I put his birthday bandana on!
I made them both scrambled eggs for breakfast!
This is what I got him for his birthday.
Pics with him playing with his new giraffe. The new rope toy are not in these pics sooooooooooooo no point trying to spot it.
We named the giraffe George!🤣
After I got back from school we went to a big park so Prince could chase after his ball instead of just his normal hour and a quarter, hour and a half walk.
So I really hope Prince had a great birthday!
Stay tuned for Ruby’s birthday in July as she’s going to have a party. Prince couldn’t have one because of COVID restrictions as we would want it to be indoors.
Hope you enjoyed this day in the life of Princes birthday!

Hi. How are you? Today I’m going to be doing a post about things Prince does that annoys me! I would say that Prince is the more annoying one out of my 2 dogs. So today I’m going to do a post on the things Prince does that annoys me.
So without further ado, let’s get into this post!
He tries to act really tough around people he doesn’t know.
So what I mean is he will do loads of deep barking. And I mean loads!
2. He is really annoying when I’m trying to eat.
3. He bites Ruby (my other dog).
He bites her eyes, her ears, her legs etc.
4. After he has retrieved a ball, he will drop it ages away from where I’m standing so I have to go and find it.
5. When he goes after a ball in a lake or river etc and looses it, he won’t get out till he finds it.
Hope your having a great day!
Ordinary Fab Girl 🤍
Ps: Despite him being annoying, I still love him.
This pic is from over a month ago, so he has grown a bit since.
Hi, my dogs love playing in the garden. Do yours? Anyway I thought maybe some of you would like to see some pics so here they are. The dogs are looking for food that I’ve hidden all around the rockery and in some of the bushes.
These are the pics! Sorry, it’s a really sunny day so there is a lot of shadows.
In 2 of them I’ve had to colour as you could see the phone number. Sorry that it makes the pics look a bit weird.
Have a great day and stay tuned as I’ve got a great post coming your way soon,
Ordinary Fab Girl 🤍
Ps: Prince is the one with the darker blue collar.
