Did I stick to last years resolutions & What are my new year’s resolutions?

Hi,

Ordinary Fab Girl here, and I just want to start this post by saying happy new year to you all! So,

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

By the way, make sure you let me know your new year’s resolutions in the comment section down below.

Now let’s get on to the first part of this post.

My new year’s resolutions last year were:

  1. Get better at Spanish.
  2. Take better care of my hair.
  3. Make new friends.
  4. Be healthier. *
  5. Study more.

* I feel like this is on everyone’s list every year. 😂

Now let’s see if I stuck to them:

  1. Yeah, I think so. I have definetely improved a lot. You may have seen a couple of months ago, I did a post only in Spanish. And I have definitely improved since I did that post. By the way, if you want to see more of my Spanish posts, there is a category on my blog called Spanish.
  2. YES! DEFINITELY! I am now doing regular oil treatments, and using natural hair products.
  3. Mmmmmm, kinda yeah. So I have actually made 4 new friends (don’t worry though, I am still friends with my old friends).
  4. Mmmmmmmm. Lets skip this one LOL.
  5. Yeah, I think so. I have done pretty well at school this year.

My new year’s resolutions for 2022!

  1. Run a 10k race.
  2. Learn some more German and Mandarin.
  3. Give my geckos tank a makeover.
  4. Try and be more environmentally friendly (like using reusable sanitary towels).

So once again guys I hope you had a great Christmas and a happy new year!

Huge hugs,

How to make new friends!

Hi,

So there are many times in your life when you will be in a situation were you want to make new friends. I’m here to give you some real life tips on how to make new friends!

1.Smile

I know this is a classic tip but its true. Try and smile at people. It will make you look friendly and approachable. You don’t want to look moody!

2.Don’t try to hard.

No, I am not saying don’t make an effort. I am saying don’t within a day of meeting them act like you have known them forever. It will make you look weird. Friendships take time. You can’t force them.

3. Find common interests!

Lets prove my point. Ok, you love creative writing and theatre. Who are you more likely to be friends with someone who loves creative writing or someone who loves chemistry?

4.Create inside jokes.

So I personally think it really helps friendships to have inside jokes. For example with one of my good friends, we will call her Zebra 🦓 for privacy reasons. One of us just has to saying sharpening pencils to each other and we will both start laughing. Its also great for sending your first text to them. Nothing is more awkward than sending them hi, and then they reply hi and you have got no idea what to say next.

Cutting down your meat intake!

Hi, people of planet internet,

Today I’m back

With a bit more of a serious post. I was inspired to do this post after a geography class, where we watched a video called the hidden cost of hamburgers. It was really informative. Click here to watch.

Earlier this year I really started to cut down my meat intake. If you read my what I eat in a day, you would have seen that I was basically eating a vegan diet. However, I am not vegan, as that would be basically impossible at the school I go to. I do try and avoid meat so I eat A LOT of cheese sandwiches!!! I also drink Soya milk instead of cows milk, plant butter instead of butter etc….

What I’m trying to say is to make an impact you don’t have to go fully vegan. You don’t have to go fully vegetarian. We all just have to put in the effort to do better. That is what counts.

Having a meat-free day once a week would make an impact. If everyone had a meat-free day once a week, imagine how big an impact that would make.

See you next time!

Hola, mis amigos!

Today I’m here to let you into a very IMPORTANT secret. The best Starbucks drink!

DISCLAIMER: I don’t know if they do it in your local Starbucks as I am not sure if they have some differences in the menu depending on what country you live in. I live in England , so I don’t know if they have it in the U.S for example.

Are you ready to hear it?

I ANSWER SOME OF THE INTERNET’S MOST COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT LABRADORS!

Hey guys,

So I am going to be doing a slightly different post today! I am going to be answering some of the internet’s most commonly asked questions about Labrador care!
Back Story: I have had Labradors for well over 3 years now, and they haven’t died yet LOL.

DISCLAIMER: All these opinions are my own, I am not saying I am right, I am just trying to inform people based on my own personal experience.

Before we start here are my 2 labradors!

Question 1: Do Labradors shed?

YES! The amount of shedding is unbelievable, well in my 2 labs case anyway.

Question 2: How much exercise do Labradors need?

There is not 1 answer to this. It all depends on the individual dog. For my dogs, they get between an hour and fifteen to an hour and 45 on a normal day. This is not just walking though. They will be off lead mainly and they will do a mix of swimming, retrieving and walking! I would suggest for an adult lab at least an hour a day, ideally more,

Question 3: How much food do Labradors need?

Once again, depends on the dog. You have to take into consideration factors such as age, size and exercise.

For example, my older lab, Ruby has less than Prince because she is less active and naturally smaller. My dogs eat dry food with wet food sometimes. They get fed twice a day, breakfast and dinner.

Ruby gets a quarter to half a bowl at breakfast and then just over half for dinner.

Prince gets half to 3 quarters of a bowl in the morning and then 3/4 of a bowl in the evening.

A factor you have to take into consideration for my Labradors is they are naturally quite small for labradors.

Question 4: What are good about Labradors?

There are many things, but if I had to pick 2 it would be their friendliness and their playfulness. Obviously, every dog is unique though.

Question 5: How long can Labradors be left alone?

This all depends on the individual dog. For my dogs, the longest I would feel comfortable leaving them alone for is 4 hours. That all depends on the dog though. Some Labs might only be able to be left alone for an hour, while some can be left alone for 7 hours. Obviously, always make sure they have plenty of fresh water before leaving them alone, and if you have to be out for a long time, maybe arrange for someone to check on them halfway through.

Ok guys, so that’s it for this post! Hope you enjoyed it!

See you soon,

Ordinary Fab Girl🤍
