Normally this is where I would be saying “Hi guys”.
But today is not a happy day. As you might have heard the Queens husband, the Prince consort Prince Philip died this morning.
At the age of 99 (2 months away from his hundredth birthday) he passed away peacefully on the morning of Friday 9th of April 2021.
Prince Philip did so much for this country and I’m going to list some of the great things he did.
- He fought for our country in World War 2.
- He set up informal lunches so the Queen could meet people from a wider range of backgrounds.
- He created the Duke of Edinburgh award which you might have heard of that helps young people develop a range of useful skills.
- Prince Philip was committed to the environment and was an environmental campaigner.
These are just a few ways that Prince Philip did so much for this country. Now I’m not saying he is perfect, no one is. I know he has his flaws but overall he was a good person.
Rest in Peace Prince Philip.
Also I send my best wishes to the royal family, especially the Queen.
